Rangoli ki Duniya

The design usually starts from a simple line or circle made from pencil or chalk. The design later is filled with different colors adding more beauty to the pattern. When you make Rangoli, your fingers and thumbs join together and create Gyan mudra, which makes your brain energetic and active as well as play an important role in intellectual development. Procedure: 1. Choose the design you want to use. 2.Decide where to draw your Rangoli. 3.Sketch the design outline on paper. 4.Draw your design outline in chalk on the floor. 5.Thicken the outline of your design with white chalk.   6.Give dimension to your outline with a white, textured material. 7.Choose the materials you will use to fill in your design. 8.Fill the inside of your Rangoli with y our chosen materials. 9.Mix different textures and colors in your design.   10.Add the final touches.  

The two aims of drawing  rangoli  are revelation of beauty and the acquisition of auspiciousness. The forms drawn in the  rangoli  are symbolic.  Rangoli  is a coarse powder obtained by pounding a cleavable and lustrous minera the husks of rice are burnt and the white ash obtained is used as  rangoli .     When sweeping the floor or smearing with cow dung, subtle lines are created on it. These possess certain frequencies.  A pinch of rangoli powder is taken using the index finger and thumb. As the rangoli is a coarse powder of special soft white stone, it can flow freely when slowly released from the pinch of index finger and thumb..
